Sounds for Sleeping – Calming Things to Put in Your Room

Getting a good night’s sleep is imperative for both your physical and mental health. One way to ensure a more rested sleep is to eliminate electronic devices from the bedroom.

Did you know that sleeping with the television on maybe a risk for weight gain and obesity? Additionally, the constant stream of blue light emitted reduces the body’s production of melatonin. A natural hormone that aids in sleep.

While the background noise may help drown out racing thoughts and outside noises, it’s not good for your health. Consider one of these alternative sounds for sleeping to improve your sleep.

White Noise Machine

My first experience with a white noise machine was with my newborn daughter. It was a gift that ultimately changed my entire family’s sleeping habits.

Studies have shown that white noise reduces the time it takes to fall asleep by nearly 40% than those who don’t utilize it. And I feel confident attesting that truth.

Sleep Sound Machine

Alternatively, a sleep sound machine provides a variety of soothing sounds for sleeping. They typically include white noise. Furthermore, they often feature fan noises and sounds you hear in nature. Such as ocean waves, thunderstorms, campfires, and rainforest.

Tabletop Water Fountains

Adding the sound of babbling water into your bedroom is absolute bliss. Additionally, it’s a beautiful backdrop to the ocean waves setting on the Douni Machine! Personally, it’s my favorite sleep-time combination.

In fact, I enjoy the tranquility so much that I have two tabletop fountains in my bedroom. The Homedics Relaxation Indoor Tabletop Fountain is my favorite. Including a light that creates an illuminating glow. A perfect addition to your room’s ambiance.

An Asian inspired Fountain Features three-tiered leaves that water streams down. Creating a serene trickling sound.

Also, I’ve added a miniature jade Buddha Statue to the bottom tier of my fountain. Successfully capturing the atmosphere of Zen. Furthermore, incorporate your favorite gemstones and crystals. To give it your authentic touch.

The Alpine Corporation Tabletop Fountain is one of my favorite calming things to put in your room. The three-tier tea light candle feature produces enchanting light.

Water trickles from each tier to mimic the sounds of a small waterfall. Lit with tea lights on three-tiers.

Alternatively, these LED tea lights spark a bright twinkling light. But these are battery operated and can’t get wet. So don’t overfill the fountain.

Indoor Floor Fountains

An indoor floor fountain typically soothes you with a deeper waterfall sound. This Mirror Waterfall Fountain w/ Stones and Light is a number-one bestseller. And it is a stunning addition to my Waking Mom Amazon Wish List!
