It’s rather old but one of the prime movies of all time. It’s the Great Pumpkin, created and directed by Charles M. Schulz in 1966. The cast included fine actors who played splendid characters such as Peter Robins as Charlie Brown, Christopher Shea as Linus Van Pelt, Selly Dryer as Lucy Van Pelt, and Bill Melendez as Snoopy.

The plot revolves around humor, childhood innocence, and friendship beliefs, describing how Linus believed in a Great Pumpkin who’ll rise from the pumpkin patch on Halloween Eve.

2. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

A 1993 American musical dark fantasized animated film directed by Henry Selick and produced by Tim Burton, it is the second among the list of Family Friendly Halloween movies.

The cast included Danny Elfman, who wrote the songs, Chris Sarandon, Catherine O’Hara, William Hickey, Ken Page, Paul Reubens, Glenn Shadix, and Ed Ivory. The plot tells the story of Jack Skellington, the emperor of “Halloween Town,” who sets a voyage to “Christmas Town” and initiates a plan to dominate the holiday.

3. The Addams Family (1991)

Third on the list is The Addams Family, a popular supernatural black comedy film of 1991 built on the characters from a famous cartoon drawn by Charles Addams. This blockbuster stars Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia, and Christopher Lloyd. The story focuses on a strange family who seem to reconnect with their lost relative, Fester Addams, and the adventures within.

4. Hocus Pocus (1993)

Hocus Pocus is a cult classic and a mandatory annual watch. The cast includes a trio of witches starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, who were accidentally revived by a Jovial teenager starring Omri Katz. The plot revolves around Omri Katz, a teenage boy named Max, and his little sister when they move to a new place and accidentally awaken three executed witches of the 17th century.

Halloweentown is a Disney Channel Original comedy movie directed by Dawayne Dunham. The first part of the Halloweentown series starred Debbie Reynolds, Kimberly J. Brown, Joey Zimmerman, and Judith Hoag.

Halloweentown circles around a young girl, Marnie, who, on her 13th Halloween, discovers she’s a witch. She teleports via a secret portal to Halloweentown, an isolated place for paranormal creatures who live apart from the human world. Little did she know that she’d be fighting a battle with evil witches and cursed warlocks to save Halloweentown.

6. Hotel Transylvania (2012)

Sixth on the list is a part of a famous movie series by Sony Pictures Animation. Hotel Transylvania is an animated film created by Todd Durham in 2012. The series consists of four blockbuster films, with the Hotel Transylvania as the first to be released.

The cast includes Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg, and Kevin James, with other actors who all did a splendid job. The Storyline focuses on the journeys of monsters and ghosts who stay in the infamous Hotel Transylvania, where monsters can spend quality time away from humans.

The second film of the famous movie series by Sony Pictures Animation, Hotel Transylvania 2. The cast included Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, David Spade, and others, who all performed a magnificent job playing their characters. The movie displays how Dracula and his friends put their tiring efforts to bring out the sleeping monster within his grandson, who’s half human and half vampire.

The Addams Family is a 2019 computer-generated animation film based on characters from a cartoon by Charles Addams. The splendid cast of The Addams Family includes Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Chloe Grace Moretz, Finn Wolfhard, Nick Kroll, Snoop Dogg, Bette Midler, and Allison Janney.

The Storyline focuses on Gomez and Morticia Addams, who move to an abandoned asylum, embraced by swamps and disclosed by fog at the mountain’s top in New Jersey, to raise a family.     

9. Casper (1995)

Casper received overwhelming reviews from critics, who praised the film for its splendid visual effects, faithfulness, and music. But Casper was criticized for its dark humor and story.

The cast consists of Christina Ricci, Bill Pullman, Cathy Moriarty, and Eric Idle. The plot circles around a therapist and his daughter when they meet a young ghost, Casper, while they’re trying to vacate the premises from wicked spirits.

It is an American Animated movie bundled up with comedy and horror. The film stars Kodi Smit-McPhee, Jodelle Ferland, Bernard Hill, Tucker Albrizzi, Anna Kendrick, Casey Affleck, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Leslie Mann, Jeff Garlin, Elaine Stritch, Tempestt Bledsoe, Alex Borstein, and John Goodman. The Plot of ParaNorman is about a boy who challenges ghosts, zombies, and adults to save his town from an evil curse.

11. E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (1982)
