EEK! I love finding really cool things to share online with you friends. Someone asked an online community what free things everyone should take advantage of, and people flooded the comments. So here are some of the best finds. Make sure to bookmark this post!

1. Free File

If you’re in the USA and earn less than $73,000, you can use the same software to file your taxes without fees using Free File. However, one user warns that companies that sell Tax software such as Turbo Tax are deliberately making it difficult to find.

2. Photopea

Have you heard of Photopea? It’s essentially a photoshop clone that is entirely free. One says you can remove the semi-unintrusive side banner ad with a one-time payment. They suggest this free online editor has the same features as Photoshop. However, it’s completely contained within your browser. Other users recommended GIMP and Sumo.

3. Archive.org

Did you know that Archive.org has lots of old but free content—for example, many DOS games are directly playable through the browser. It’s a “non-profit building a digital library of Internet sites and other cultural artifacts in digital form.”

4. Free Classes and Courses From Large Universities

Did you know that most large universities have their courses online for free? For example, one user shares MIT OpenCourseWare, a “free and open collection of material from thousands of MIT courses, covering the entire MIT curriculum.” A second person volunteers AcademicEarth.Org as an additional free educational resource.

5. My TV Sites

OK, folks. This one is awesome! Did you know about My 90’s TV? How about My 80’s, 70’s, 60’s, and, yup, My 50’s TV? These sites are novelty sites to get lost in nostalgia. It uses YouTube videos to simulate watching TV in whichever decade you visit. When changing channels, you can specify the year and categories you want to see.

Have you heard of Noba? It is a website that has compiled Psychology topics into easy-to-read modules. Psychology university professors have gathered them to help facilitate free education for students. You can even download the ones you’re interested in as a PDF as infinitely. All of this is free.

7. Flightradar 24

Did you know you can watch live plane traffic for free on Flightradar24? One claims the site nearly singlehandedly cured their fear of flying. “Watching all the planes, all the thousands of airplanes at once, not crashing, day after day.”

8. Freecycle

Are you a fan of the Buy Nothing Groups on Facebook? Then, you’ll likely love Freecycle. It’s a site where people give away stuff they don’t need or want anymore that they don’t care about enough to sell. Another place to check out if you’re into free things is r/freebies.

OK. I’ve never heard of Privacy, but it sounds AWESOME! It allows you to make site-specific credit cards on the fly, set a spending limit on them, make them one-time only, etc. You can create a separate credit card for every site you shop on and be very comfortable knowing your card isn’t compromised if it gets hacked. It’s also handy for “free trial but must enter CC” type things.

10. VirusTotal

VirusTotal is a free resource that allows you to upload files and links to check for malicious intent. “Analyze suspicious files, domains, IPs, and URLs to detect malware and other breaches and automatically share them with the security community.”

11. Old Games Download

Old Games Download has every PC game from the ’70s, ’80s, and 90’s till the early 2000s. One user admits I’ve found so many lost games you couldn’t imagine. The amazing part? It has step-by-step instructions for every game you want to download and is FREE! There is a search tab, too, so don’t worry. You won’t have to search for hours for that one game that you played in your childhood.”
