What movies would you rate as a 10/10 on every watch? I’ll go first and say The Godfather. It’s classic, and no matter where it is in the story, if I see it, I am sitting down and finishing it. The Godfather II is also a 10/10 in my book. After someone polled a film forum, here are what cinephiles voted as 10/10 movies.
1. Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
Eleven years after the events in The Terminator, now with Sarah Connor locked away in a mental facility, young John Connor is the newest target of the deadliest Terminators to date. But, to his benefit and his mother’s surprise, an unexpected face from the past comes to the rescue.
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
An archaeologist attempts to defeat the Nazis on an escapade for a rare religious artifact. If Indiana Jones can’t get his hands on this mystical marvel before the Nazis do, it could lead to world domination.
3. Goodfellas (1990)
“But I’m funny how? Funny like a clown? I amuse you?” Everyone knows those lines, and it cracks me up every time just thinking about the nervousness in Ray Liotta shooting that scene because it was so intense.
4. Saving Private Ryan (1998)
Set during World War II, in 1944, a brave Captain ventures behind enemy lines to alert a soldier that his three brothers have been killed in combat. While witnessing the true harshness of the war, each member of this rescue mission experiences personal growth and self-discovery in an uncertain time.
5. Aliens (1986)
After floating in space for 57 years since the Nostromo incident of the first film, Lt. Ripley is rescued by a deep space salvage team. However, when comms are lost with a terraforming colony on the moon, Ripley leads a mission where they discover a lone child survivor and a lot of terror.
6. Pulp Fiction (1994)
The story of two philosophical hitmen is intertwined with those of the people they interact within a short time frame. As a result, Pulp Fiction is widely regarded as one of Quinten Tarantino’s most significant works.
7. Homeward Bound
If you are an adventure film buff, this one should definitely be on your list. On their way to a family vacation in San Fransisco, they drop their pets off at a family friend’s ranch. Then, fearing they have been left for good, the persistent pets trek across the Sierra Nevada Mountains to return to their humans.
8. Gladiator (2000)
Many filmaholics noted that despite his great character off-screen and his illustrious career on screen, his role as Commodus has tainted their view of him. “I’ve been angry with Joaquin Phoenix for over 20 years; that movie is top-notch.”
9. The Fifth Element (1997)
An unsuspecting cabbie has the world’s fate in his hands when a young woman falls into his cab. Set in the 23rd century, a colorful future is the backdrop for this cabbie and his mission against time to save humanity from an impending evil and a wicked industrialist set on taking over the world.
10. Heat (1995)
